As Director of Commercial Projects for SolarWorld Industries, in Camarillo, CA., Gary heads a group responsible for the marketing & sales support and project execution of large solar electric projects for commercial customers. SolarWorld manufactures solar PV modules, sells pre-designed solar 'kits', and designs & installs large-scale solar systems.

Gary Barsley has 25 years experience in marketing, sales, projects, product development, engineering and construction management in various energy and environmental technology fields. Gary has worked on technology development and on projects for wind, solar, fuel cells, geothermal, hydroelectric, nuclear, and fossil-fueled (coal, oil, & natural gas) generation technologies.

Gary has assisted startup firms with marketing, business strategy, and new product development. Gary was a Vice President at Edison Select, a subsidiary of Edison International; he also spent 15 years at Southern California Edison, most recently as Manager of Generation Projects/Construction, and worked at Fluor Engineers, and Raytheon Co.

He holds a B.S. Mech. & Environ. Engineering from U.C.S.B. and an M.B.A.-Marketing from C.S.U. Fullerton. Gary volunteers with local professional organizations involved in education, technology, energy, & venture funding. These include the Central Coast MIT Forum, the Santa Barbara Million Solar Roofs group, and the C.S.U. Channel Islands Business & Technology Partnership Energy Group. He is also a frequent speaker to school & community groups on the topics of solar & renewable energy.
